How It Works

You deserve expert, individualized guidance without being locked into a long‑term package.

How We Begin

Initial consultation

(Approximately 60 minutes)

  • We Review:

    • your background, clarify priorities, and determine a focused goal for moving forward.

  • You share:

    • What you need most (example: academic planning, essay help, application strategy, or decisions and next steps), and that becomes our first objective.

Hourly Rate, Cap, & Billing

Consulting at an hourly rate

  • Time includes:

    • Includes a review of materials, live meeting time, and a brief written summary so you’ll have a clear plan moving forward.

  • Total fee cap of 6,500 dollars:

    • for a student’s college process with this practice; once fees for that student reach 6,500 dollars, there is no further charge for additional time in that application cycle.

  • Hours are invoiced at the beginning of each month:

    • For work completed in the prior month, payment is expected by the 15th of that month via Venmo for consultation to continue.

Typical Hourly Projects

Services are booked hourly, with time typically allocated as follows

  • Academic & Timeline Planning:

    • 1-2 hours to clarify short‑ and long‑term goals, discuss master’s vs. doctoral options, and outline an application timeline for 6–12 months before deadlines.

  • Personal Statement / SOP Support:

    • 2–3 hours to brainstorm experiences, clarify academic and professional goals, and select a narrative structure for the personal statement or statement of purpose.

  • Funding, Fellowships & Aid:

    • 1-2 hours to outline steps and timelines for institutional funding, assistantships, and relevant external fellowships or grants.

  • Interviews, Decisions & Next Steps:

    • 1–2 hours to prepare for interviews or faculty meetings, including program‑specific talking points and questions.

Next Steps

If you would like to schedule an initial hourly consultation, you can reach out with a brief description of your needs and your student’s current grade, and a time will be set to get started.

Staying in Control of Time and Cost

  • Transparent tracking: Time is logged and can be shared on request so you see exactly how hours are used.

  • Check‑ins: If a task looks like it will run beyond the initial estimate, there will be a pause, an updated estimate, and an explicit decision about whether to continue.

  • No obligation to continue: You decide after each step whether you want additional help; there are no bundles or long‑term contracts, and you can also stop at any point before reaching the cap.
